Welcome to our new website

28th June
Club

Swansea City is pleased to unveil the club’s exciting new website that brings the Jack Army closer to their beloved Swans more than ever before.

After the club’s long-standing digital contract with the Football League expired over the summer, the Swans teamed up with leading digital agency Rippleffect to produce the first revamp in 17 years.

Our new bespoke platform on the new URL swanseacity.com will be the main destination for all things Swans across fully-optimised mobile, tablet and desktop devices that will strengthen the fan engagement experience.

Bringing you all the latest from inside the camp, the mobile-first website boasts a fully responsive interface, a clean feel, quicker loading times and a host of new features, many of which will be rolled out over the next few weeks.

Heavily content focussed to meet the demands of today’s 24-hour news culture, we will guarantee fans a pop-up free advertising zone and an enjoyable, easy-to-navigate and responsive online experience that will make swanseacity.com the trusted number one destination for Swans fans at home and abroad.

Work began planning the new platform in June 2016 with comprehensive research that included a number of fan focus workshops at the Liberty Stadium that offered supporters the opportunity to provide feedback on what they wanted from the new digital platform.

The result is what you see today, although this is an on-going, long-term project and we are only just beginning the journey. There will be a host of new developments released before and during the new campaign.

We will also be launching a ‘Single Sign On’ development in the next few weeks, the first of its kind in UK football, to tie in with the launch of our new digital membership package. It means that when you initially sign in to either access your tickets, merchandise or sign up for the first time to subscribe to our new digital membership, you will be able to create a club account so you don’t have to sign in again when moving between our sites. Not only will it create a much more user-friendly experience when visiting our different platforms, it will enable us to tailor and prioritise our communications to you to suit your Swans needs.

We will also be unveiling an exciting new mobile Swans App in the coming weeks that utilises all the latest technology innovations, including mobile ticketing which fans can show at the turnstiles on matchday.

“One of the priorities of the new ownership group when they arrived at the club was to transform and modernise our digital business through major investment in the latest technologies,’’ explained Swansea City’s digital media manager, Rebecca Symmons.

“The aim is to not only improve communications and bring fans closer to the club through enhanced editorial content and platforms, but to also realise growing digital opportunities in the commercial market that will ultimately benefit matters on the pitch.

“Now that we have secured our digital independence, the goal is to become an industry leader in the footballing world with a premier digital fan experience. This new platform courtesy of Rippleffect, whose clients include Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton and the BBC, is the first step towards that goal.’’

Here are some of the features Swans fans can enjoy on the new website . . .

SwansTV

We have enhanced our audio and visual offering that will include match highlights, match cams and fan cams, interviews, features, archive, training footage, press conferences and plenty of behind-the-scenes footage that will take you right to the heart of the club – and all in HD.

We will also be looking to stream the club’s successful Under-23 team fixtures live from Landore, plus our first team’s pre-season tour to America.

And it will all be FREE to access as part of our new digital membership to be rolled out fully with Single Sign On before the start of the new season.

Match Centre

We’ve teamed up with Opta Stats, the world’s leading sports data provider, to offer fans an unrivalled and comprehensive service on matchday.

The new interactive match centre will enable fans to follow all the action minute-by-minute with unique up-to-date player and team stats and heat maps, live Premier League and EFL scores, action images, pre-match build-up and post-match reaction, plus the best social media posts from the Jack Army.

There will also be live audio commentary of all first team fixtures courtesy of our partnership with BBC Radio Wales.

This is part of the second phase of development and will be launched when the new Premier League campaign kicks off.

Junior Jacks

A dedicated junior section aimed at our young fans to compliment the exciting re-launch of our former Cygnet membership scheme. Features include prize giveaways for Junior Jack members, skills, activity sheets, healthy tips and recipes.
