Assists are key for Narsingh

Luciano Narsingh is determined to live up to his King of the Assist nickname as he prepares for his first full season at Swansea City.

The Dutch international was renowned for setting up goals in his homeland, with Narsingh setting a record 22 league assists in the Eredivisie in 2012.

The rapid winger made a quick start to life at Swansea City following his move in January, with the 26-year-old setting up Gylfi Sigurdsson’s winner in the 2-1 home victory over Southampton.

He teed up another for Sigurdsson in the following game – a 2-1 defeat at Manchester City – while Narsingh signed off the season with another game-winning assist after crossing for Fernando Llorente in the 2-1 win against West Brom at the Liberty.

From his 13 appearances, Narsingh claimed an assist every 136 minutes.

And now he’s looking to make a bigger impact as he gets embarks on his first full season in the Premier League.

“I played a lot of games and provided a few assists in my four months at the club last season, so it was a good boost for me,” said Narsingh.

“I really enjoy creating goals for my team-mates. Do I prefer to provide an assist or score? I probably get a bit more enjoyment from creating a goal because that is my job as a winger.

“I made a good reputation for myself in Holland by creating goals, and I want to be known for that here too.

“But I must score this season – that’s something I am hoping to do.”
