Swansea City have five players out on loan this season, here we take a look at how they’ve been getting on in the early part of the campaign.
Lewis Webb
Lewis Webb joined Aberystwyth Town in the Cymru Premier on a season-long loan. While the young shot-stopper still trains with the Swans, he is gaining valuable game time in Wales’ top division and he’s been impressing fans and fellow players.
He has twice been named in the Cymru Premier’s Five-on-Form and his debut was so impressive, S4C cut together a compilation of his best saves.
Kyle Joseph
The young forward has been on scoring form for loan club Oxford United since joining the Us on August 10.
He has three goals in nine appearances, scoring an important equaliser against Morecambe in late August and the winner against Burton Albion in early September.
The youngster says he is enjoying his football at the Us and is embracing Karl Robinson’s challenge to him “to get his numbers up”.
“When I first met the gaffer he said I need to get my numbers up, which took me back a bit to be honest,” he told the local media.
“I 100 per cent agreed with it, because that’s what managers look at.”
Morgan Whittaker
Whittaker joined Plymouth Argyle on loan ahead of the 2022-23 season. Prior to the weekend, like Joseph, he had scored three goals – a consolation in a heavy defeat to Charlton Athletic, the first of a three goal comeback against Derby, and the winner against Oxford United.
He took his tally to four on Sunday, starring in front of the Sky cameras as he fired home a spectacular winner for Argyle against Portsmouth to put the Pilgrims top of the League One table.
He has made 12 appearances so far, being utilised as both a striker and on the wide right. As well as his goals, he has contributed with two assists giving him the most League One goal contributions at Argyle.
Jordon Garrick
Garrick made his debut for Lincoln City on August 13 when the Imps played out a 1-1 draw with Forest Green Rovers. His sole goal so far came in dramatic circumstances in a Carabao Cup match with Barrow.
Lincoln looked to be heading out of the competition when Barrow took the lead in the 87th minute, but Garrick’s equaliser in the 90th minute sent the tie to penalties with his side progressing via the shootout.
He has featured seven times including in a dramatic 6-3 victory over Bristol Rovers earlier this month.
Dan Williams
The Swans academy product worked hard over the summer to get back from an ankle injury sustained in the latter part of the 2021-22 season in the League of Ireland.
He joined The New Saints on a season-long loan on September 1, TNS’ match 48 hours later came too early for the young midfielder. He made his debut off the bench in the only subsequent fixture, a 7-0 win over Cardiff Met.
