Mixed fortunes for international Swans

Connor Roberts played the full 90 minutes as Wales suffered a first defeat in their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign thanks to a 2-1 loss to World Cup finalists Croatia on Saturday.

Bersant Celina enjoyed a better result with Kosovo as the attacking midfielder played 78 minutes of their draw against Montenegro on Friday, while Kristoffer Nordfeldt was an unused substitute as Sweden continued their fine start in Group F with a routine 3-0 win over Malta on the same night.

At under-21 level, midfielder Jack Evans made his first appearance since recovering from cancer but was unable to help Wales avoid defeat to their Albanian counterparts in Tirana on Sunday.

Swans defender Brandon Cooper was also among Rob Page's starting XI, with Liam Cullen and Tom Price making appearances off the bench. Ben Cabango and Keiran Evans were unused substitutes.

Joel Asoro played 71 minutes as Sweden Under-21s claimed a comfortable 3-1 triumph over Norway on Friday, while Jordan Ayew featured for Ghana as they lost 1-0 to Namibia in a preparatory friendly for the African Cup of Nations.
