Report: Swans 1 West Brom 0

9th December
First team

Wilfried Bony struck his second goal in as many games to hand the Swans a first win in eight games as they beat West Brom 1-0.

The Ivorian blasted home with nine minutes to go at the Liberty in a tense encounter against the Baggies as Paul Clement's side rose off the bottom of the table.
Bony's first goal back at the Liberty since his return to the club proved the difference, with the striker latching onto sub Tammy Abraham's touch from Ki Sung-Yueng's corner before hammering home from close range.
Abraham could, and should, have doubled the lead in added-on time when he nodded on a clearance and sprinted towards goal. But when he chipped over the onrushing Ben Foster, Abraham could only watch on as his effort dropped wide.
Earlier on, the Swans went close to opening the scoring when a Tom Carroll free-kick was nodded onto his own post by Baggies midfielder Jake Livermore.
Other than that there were some half-chances, with the lively Bony and sub Jordan Ayew going close.
The final whistle was met with a huge cheer from the Jack Army, with the Swans now looking forward to Wednesday's home clash with leaders Manchester City.
