Report: Swans U23s 2 Tottenham U23s 2

16th February

Swansea City Under-23s extended their unbeaten run in Premier League 2 to eight games thanks to a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Swans raced into a two-goal lead at Landore thanks to early strikes from Courtney Baker-Richardson and Jordon Garrick, only for a double from Kazaiah Sterling to rescue a point for Spurs.

Baker-Richardson slammed home the opener inside three minutes, latching on to a superb low cross by Garrick, before the latter turned from provider to scorer when he slotted home Swansea's second in the 19th minute.

Cameron Toshack and Gary Richards's side were rampant during the opening exchanges and nearly extended their advantage just moments after scoring their second, only for Spurs goalkeeper Brandon Austin to deny George Byers and then Liam Cullen's follow-up.

The visitors fought back following Austin's heroics and pulled one back after Shilow Tracey was brought down inside the box. Sterling calmly converted from the spot.

And after Byers was once again denied by the impressive Austin, Sterling notched up his second of the evening, firing home the equaliser in added time of the first half.

Chances were few and far between in the second half as the Swans aimed to restore their lead.

With 15 minutes left on the clock, Byers thought he had scored the winner with a well-struck first-time effort across goal, only to see the ball cannon back off the post.

The share of the spoils ensured Swansea's unbeaten run continues, with the young Swans remaining in fourth position in PL2 Division 1.
