Swansea City Community Trust’s Premier League Kicks project is to partner with Go Air as part of the project’s new Multi-Sport initiative.

Launching this month, the partnership will witness PL Kicks coaches deliver and support gymnastic sessions at the local trampoline park in Llansamlet.

“We are a leisure fitness venue and this link will help us to run our fitness classes, specifically our gymnastic sessions,” said Jill Peacock, Go Air’s general manager. “They’re going to lend us staff to support us and we’ve trained them as coaching assistants to increase the members that can attend.

“Trampolining and gymnastics is stealth exercise as the young gymnastics are taking part in physical activity but they’re having fun at the same time. Something like that makes sport more accessible to young people and sets them on the road to being healthy for the rest of their lives.

“Everyone looks up to someone as a role model and around here the Swans are idols to a lot of young people so to have the endorsement of the Swans Community Trust is superb and will hopefully attract more people to get involved."

Craig Richards, from the new Multi-Sports project, added: “We are looking forward to working with Jill and her team at Go Air. Hopefully we can help attract new numbers to the facility week by week. We will offer exciting activities for all and most importantly the kids are having fun.

“It’s a win-win situation for all involved."

Aiming to inspire young people aged between eight and 19 years of age to get active in their communities, PL Kicks Multi-Sport is a new initiative for the Community Trust offering an array of sports for young people to get involved with.

Focusing on sports other than football – such as gymnastics, trampolining, table tennis and hockey – PL Kicks Multi-Sport also aims to help young people to realise their potential through the delivery of high quality sports provision in areas of high need.

PL Kicks Multi-Sport offers gymnastics sessions at Go Air every Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6pm, as well as on a Friday at 5-6pm.

Trampoline sessions are available from 7-8pm on a Friday and the session also delivers trampolining and dodgeball at Go Air on a Saturday from 7-9pm.
