Man in the middle: Stuart Attwell

26th February
First team

Stuart Attwell will take charge of Swansea City’s Emirates FA Cup fixture against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday (8.05pm).

Attwell, from Nuneaton, will be the man in the middle for a Swans game for the second time this season, having taken charge of the goalless draw with Bournemouth in the Premier League in November.

Prior to that, the last time Attwell officiated a match in SA1 was when the Swans were beaten 2-0 by Hull City in August 2016.

The 35-year-old will take control of a Swans game at the Liberty for the seventh time, with the Swans never having won a match where Attwell has been in charge on their patch.

He has refereed 22 games so far this term, with his most recent assignment being Liverpool's 4-1 win over West Ham at the weekend.

Attwell will be assisted on Tuesday by Harry Lennard and Marc Perry. Kevin Friend will be the fourth official with Andre Marriner the VAR.
