Midfielder Carroll rejoined Swansea City in a permanent transfer from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2017.
Carroll, who signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at the Liberty, returned to the club following a successful loan spell during the 2014-15 campaign in which he made 18 appearances.
Carroll became Paul Clement’s third Swans signing, arriving back in Wales just hours after Martin Olsson sealed his move from Norwich City.
After coming through the ranks at Spurs, Carroll spent time on loan at Leyton Orient, Derby County and Queens Park Rangers before his temporary stint at the Swans.
The former England Under-21 player made a total of 56 Tottenham appearances, scoring three goals.
Carroll made a strong impression on his return to the Liberty. His second debut for the club came in a famous victory at Anfield, and he played an important role as Clement’s team pulled clear of relegation trouble.
