Jay Stansfield’s second-half hat-trick condemned Swansea City Under-18s to a 5-1 defeat against Premier League South leaders Fulham.

Charlie Clancy had given the young Swans a first-half lead at Landore.

However, the Cottagers came out firing after the break with Jean-Pierre Tiehi and Terry Ablade also on target in what was eventually a commanding victory for them.

Aiming to end a run of five straight defeats, the Swans opened the scoring in the 34th minute as Clancy tucked away the rebound after Ali Al-Hamadi’s initial strike was well-saved by Luca Ashby-Hammond.

But it was all one-way traffic after the break with goals from Stansfield and Tiehi in the space of a couple of minutes turning the contest on its head.

Stansfield scored a third from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute and completed his hat-trick 12 minutes later.

And the Swans’ misery was completed six minutes from time as substitute Ablade’s fine individual effort gave free-scoring Fulham their 29th goal of the season already.
