Alan Sheehan expects tough test against confident Addicks
Alan Sheehan and Swansea City are braced for a tough test when they face a Charlton Athletic side riding the crest of a wave at The Valley this afternoon.
The Swans will be looking to end a positive week on a high, having beaten Norwich in their last league game, before pushing star-studded Manchester City all the way in the Carabao Cup in midweek.
But they take on a Charlton side who, having secured promotion via the play-offs last term, have made an outstanding start to life in the Championship.
They currently occupy a play-off place, and have lost just one of their last 20 league games on home turf.
All of which means head coach Sheehan and his squad are in no doubt as to the size of the task ahead in south London.
“Charlton are a team that's built up a lot of momentum in the last year or so and a very difficult team to play against from what I have seen,” he said.
"They beat Ipswich 3-0 away the other day and they are in the play-off places at the moment, so we understand it's going to be a very difficult game."
