Alan Sheehan | We want this to be a great night for Swansea City
Head coach Alan Sheehan hopes Swansea City can enjoy a positive night on and off the pitch as they prepare for the challenge of facing Manchester City at the Swansea.com Stadium.
There will be a sell-out crowd for the visit of Pep Guardiola’s side for the fourth-round Carabao Cup tie, with the Swans having seen off Premier League Nottingham Forest in thrilling fashion in round three.
They will start as firm underdogs against a City side who have dominated the domestic landscape for much of the last decade, and who were European champions just two years ago.
“It's a big challenge. You're talking about one of the best teams in the world, one of the best managers, maybe of all time,” said Sheehan.
“They have so much quality all over the pitch, and are a team that people have tried to emulate over a number of years.
“It’s a difficult test, but one we are looking forward to.
“We’re hoping for a wonderful atmosphere out there and to have a really good night for the football club.
“We can take confidence from the last round. It’s hard to beat a Premier League team, and that was an incredible night to be a part of.
“The atmosphere and the celebrations between the fans and the players were wonderful.
“We have a sell-out crowd and these are the nights you want to bring to the football club. We have won three games to get here and we’ll be trying to win this one.”
