Alfie rejoins Swans squad

Alfie Mawson will be reunited with his Swansea City team-mates today as he begins his preparations for the new Premier League season.
Mawson was given extra time off having featured for England at this summer’s Uefa European Under-21 Championship.
The 23-year-old played a central role as Aidy Boothroyd’s England side reached the semi-finals of the tournament, where they were beaten on penalties by Germany.
But Mawson will now refocus on club duties as he gets set for his second season as a Swan.
The central defender enjoyed an impressive debut campaign as a Premier League player in 2016-17 having joined the Swans from Barnsley last August.
Mawson will join up with Paul Clement’s squad ahead of tonight’s opening pre-season friendly at Barnet before jetting off on the Swans’ tour of the USA tomorrow.
