Anthony Wright was pleased to see his Swansea City Under-21s side return to winning ways as they secured a 5-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday at the Joma High Performance Centre.

The Swans were ahead at the break through a Morgan Bates header, and four more goals followed in the second period thanks to Josh Pescatore, Thomas Woodward (2) and Dan Watts.

Coach Wright had seen his side held to a draw against Cardiff City in their previous game, and had been left feeling his side should have had more from that encounter.

So, he was happy to see them deliver an improved performance against the Owls.

"In terms of what we've asked of the players, I couldn't be happier," said Wright.

"Some of our play, some of our rotations and movement were terrific. That was typified by the goals we scored, they were top goals.

"We were aggressive out of possession. I thought we suffocated the opposition and really took control of the game.

"I think the second goal took the stuffing out of them a little bit, from that moment on we were in control and, on another day, we could have scored more.

"The message at half-time was consistent with the message before, we wanted to be good with and without the ball and I thought we had a good balance with that.

"We were disappointed to concede in the way that we did, but overall the players did everything that was asked of them."
