Coach Anthony Wright hailed a "terrific" first-half showing from Swansea City Under-21s as they claimed a comfortable 6-0 victory over Huddersfield Town at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The young Swans claimed their second stadium win of the season following their 3-2 victory against Crewe on the opening weekend of the campaign, and extending their unbeaten record at the ground, which stretches back to the start of the 2022-23 campaign.

There was a brace apiece for Morgan Bates and skipper Joel Cotterill, with Kyrell Wilson and Aimar Govea also among the goals.

The age-grade side found themselves 5-0 up at the break, and Wright praised the intensity and performance from the opening 45 minutes.

"The level the players set in the first half was terrific. I think the first 33 minutes of the game, we just blew the opposition away with our intensity," said Wright.

"Out of possession we were immense and what we did with the ball just matched that.

"I really enjoyed the first-half display, especially as after the last game that we played here I was highly critical of the team ,and of individuals across the pitch.

"It's quite difficult then in the second half when you're 5-0 up at half-time. Coming in at the break it's about motivating the players, doing the right things and playing with tempo.

"It can be difficult from a psychological side when the game is at 5-0 at half-time.

"But I really just have to focus on that first half, because it was immense."
