TRAVELLING BY CAR

From Swansea there are two routes. The most popular and usually the fastest is the M4/M25/A12. The second option is M4/A465/A40/A449/M50/M5/M42/M6/A14.

For the first route join the M4 out of Swansea. Leave the M4 at junction 4B and head clockwise round the M25. Leave the M25 a t junction 28 joining the A12. Once at Copdock follow the last few miles into Ipswich as detailed below.

For the second route leave the M4 out of Swansea at junction 43 joining the A465. Join the A40 heading east. The road will briefly change to the A449 and at the next roundabout take the third exit down the M50.

At the end of the M50 take the first left for the M5 and head north. Once you have reached junction 4A leave for the M42 staying on until junction 7A where you will join the M6.

Stay on the M6 for a short period of time until you reach the A14. Continue on the A14 to the outskirts of Ipswich following the last few miles into Ipswich once at the Copdock A12 / A14 interchange.

The last few miles

Once you reach the A12 / A14 Copdock Interchange, just south of Ipswich, take the A1214 (London Road) for a couple of miles into town. As you approach the town centre area, there’s a Sainsbury’s supermarket on the left – at this point, go straight on past Sainsbury’s and then almost immediately right onto West End Road. Take the first left (after about half a mile) onto Sir Alf Ramsey Way and continue to the stadium.

Parking

Event day parking costs £15 and will be in operation at Ipswich Borough Council’s long stay car parks situated near and next to the ground at Portman Road, West End Road and Princes Street. This comes into force three hours before kick-off to one hour after kick-off.

There is no official stadium car park however, there are plenty of car parks near the ground. The largest of these is located right by the away end (postcode IP1 2BP).

The Portman Road exit for this car park will be closed for approximately 15 minutes after full-time.

There are other large car parks nearby:

West End Road - IP1 2DZ

Railway Car Park - IP2 8AL

There are also plenty of car parks in the town centre, which is a 10 minute walk from the stadium.

Our parking partners, Big Parking, also offer some parking options near the ground which can be pre-booked by clicking HERE.
