Midfielder Cameron Llewellyn believes the emphatic 5-1 win against Colchester United will prove a big confidence booster for Swansea City Under-18s following a tough run for the development side.

Llewellyn produced a magnificent performance to end the game with four assists as he played his first full 90 minutes of the season for the development team, as the Swans secured a first league win in four matches.

Llewellyn was pleased to have made a number of important contributions, and feels the overall performance provides a timely boost.

“It feels great to have had four assists, I felt I put in a good shift for the boys and we got the three points, which was the most important thing," he said.

"The team morale is higher when we are winning, every win is an important win because we needed to get back into winning ways after some tough results.”

The win tees the under-18s up for their Professional Development League Cup quarter-final clash at Sheffield United on Wednesday, which is quickly followed by a meeting with Bournemouth in the league.

“We have two big games next week so the win is definitely welcome ahead of those," added Llewellyn.

"We have Sheffield United on Wednesday, which will be a different challenge for us but one I think we are ready for, and then Bournemouth on the weekend.

"We have had a few tough weeks against some good opposition, but all we need is a good win and it gets the boys buzzing for the next match.”
