Davies thanks fans for their support

Keston Davies hailed Swansea City Under-23s’ season following this week’s Premier League Cup title win over Reading and reserved special praise for the support they received.

Over 2,000 fans watched the young Swans complete and league and cup double at the Liberty Stadium on Monday after a 2-0 win over the Royals.

And Davies, who played his 40th game of the campaign during the title win, believes his team-mates have got their reward for all the hard work they have put in this season.

“We have worked extremely hard,” he said. “I don’t think anyone thought we would lift two trophies, but I think we deserve it with the performances we have put in across the year.

“A special thank you must go to the fans this season. They have been with us from the start. More and more people have been coming out to watch every game, which has given us inspiration.

“They have been brilliant and to play in front of another 2,000 fans on Monday constantly cheering us on was fantastic.

“The team have been fantastic all campaign. No one has stopped grafting. We have played as a team and wanted to win as a team.

“We would have liked to have gone further in a few other cup competitions, but to deliver the double really has been the perfect season.”
