An EFL in the Community-commissioned report has revealed the work undertaken by Swansea City AFC Foundation in our city and local communities had a social value of over £29.1 million.

During the latest reporting period more than 14,500 participants engaged with Foundation programmes, equating to an average value of £2,075 per participant, running from September 2024 to the end of August 2025 through programmes delivered across communities in south Wales.

An impressive return of £19.42 per £1 invested was generated from programmes focused on health, education, inclusion and community development.

The Foundation generated £12.6 million in subjective wellbeing value and £10.3 million through wider social and community outcomes, demonstrating the positive impact that participation, connection and support programmes continue to have on local communities.

Initiatives such as Premier League Primary Stars and Premier League Inspires, which focus on education, employability and wellbeing generated £3.75 million in educational and employment value, while sessions promoting active lifestyles, disability in sport and inclusivity, such as FIT Jacks and Neuro Walking Football, contributed to a physical health value of £1.3 million. Moreover, initiatives supporting mental health support like Cwtch Coffee Mornings created over £530,000 in mental health impact value.

Jonathan Wilsher, Interim Head of Swansea City AFC Foundation, said: “These impact figures highlight the commitment shown by the Foundation to use the power of football and its community to positively change lives and create opportunities for people of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds through a variety of community-based initiatives.

“These figures also represent far more than statistics. They reflect the thousands of people supported through Swansea City AFC Foundation programmes each year, and the people who help to allow us to contribute so powerfully to our community.

“The dedicated Foundation staff have played a key role in delivering such impressive figures and deserve a great deal of credit. It takes commitment, expertise, hard work and a selfless attitude to perform to such a level on a consistent basis.’’
