Gustavo Nunes is excited by the opportunity to link up with Swansea City, and revealed how Vitor Matos’ warmth and positivity made him keen to make his loan move to SA1.

The 20-year-old has joined the Swans for the remainder of the 2025-26 season, and will wear the number 18 shirt.

The Brentford winger, who came through the ranks at Brazilian club Gremio before making a £10million move to west London, will provide head coach Matos with an additional attacking option final third.

The Swans will hope his speed, creativity and ability to take on defender one on one can make an impact as they look top continue their recent upturn in form.

And Nunes is eager and ready to get down to work.

“When I heard the news that there was a chance to join Swansea, I was very happy and very excited,” he said.

“I called my family, I talked to my agent, I talked to the club and I thought it was the right time.

“When I spoke to him and when I arrived here, the coach greeted me very warmly, talked to me a lot and gave me some good advice.

“During training we talked about the things that I can apply on the pitch and in games. I hope I can help him by scoring lots of goals and helping us win games.

“I would describe myself as a very fast player, I am very good in one-on-ones, and I want to help the team by scoring a lot of goals and providing assists.

“I think we are going to have good moments together, and I cannot wait to start.”
