Coach Jarred Harved has urged Swansea City Under-18s to dust themselves down following defeat against Burnley, and be ready for their PDL Cup final showdown at Millwall on Wednesday.

A goal inside the first minute from forward Benji Wetshi, a second-half brace from Lucas Wane and a Brandon Ly stunner saw the Clarets claim a comfortable victory.

Sammy Henia Kamau scored late on for the Swans with a close-range finish but it was a mere consolation in a 4-1 loss.

The age-grade side have a big week ahead with the final against Millwall fast approaching on Wednesday, followed by a trip to Sheffield United a few days later.

All of which means Harvey wants the players to quickly refocus.

"I thought the youngsters did really well, particularly in the first half. Going a goal behind so early on didn’t help matters, and it took us 10 minutes to settle but when we did I thought we did really well and did everything but score," said Harvey.

"With a number of changes in the second half, and players missing, it was always going to be a struggle, but the lads did really well.

"The last two goals were unfortunate as they come at the end of the game whilst we’re pushing, but again credit to the under-15 and under-16 players for once again stepping up to the plate.

"You will have games like this when you play so many youngsters at once, however it’s part of their development, and we feel that giving them exposure to football is an important part of that.

"But can’t fault them for effort, so we dust ourselves off, and look forward to Wednesday where they’ll have to go again."
