Striker Joel Piroe just wants to keep the goals and wins coming for Swansea City after taking his tally for the season to 19 with a brace against Preston North End.

The Dutchman now has five goals in five games, a run which has helped the Swans pick up 13 points out of 15.

His two goals against Preston came at the beginning and the end of an eventful match at the Swansea.com Stadium. Joe Allen scored his first Swans goal in 11 years to make it 2-0 while Harry Darling headed in a third before half-time.

Second-half goals for Tom Cannon and Troy Parrott could have made for a nervy finale, but the Swans showed huge strength of character to regroup and find a fourth through their talisman.

“Being 1-0 up after two minutes was a great start, I felt we could have been a bit sharper after that, but we carried on and scored three goals before half-time,” said Piroe.

“It wasn’t the best we’ve played but when you’re 3-0 up, you can’t really complain about it.

“Then we conceded an unnecessary goal right after half-time and they get some hope, then they score to make it 3-2 and then anything can happen.

“It was really nice to score the fourth just before the end of the game.

“I said I want to reach 20 for the season, but that doesn’t mean I have to stop at 20. The more I score, the happier I am, and hopefully it helps the team win too, which is the most important thing.

“We want to win every game until the end of the season, we just want to keep going.”
