Jon Beale | It'll be tough, but a great experience for the boys
Swansea City Under-18s' coach Jon Beale expects a tough test as the young Swans host Blackburn Rovers at the Swansea.com Stadium in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday evening (7pm).
It's the first time in a decade the young Swans have progressed to this stage in the competition and they did so with a dramatic last-minute extra-time victory over Leeds United in the fourth round at the LNER Stadium.
In the third-round, the Swans also progressed with another last-minute winner thanks to Brogan Popham's 96th-minute strike against Hull City at the MKM Stadium in December.
Blackburn, meanwhile, eased through the previous round with a dominant 8-1 victory against Coventry City at the CBS Arena.
"I think it's brilliant for the boys. They did so well in the last round away at Leeds. They've come through two tough away ties in the third and fourth round, and now they've got the reward of playing at the Swansea.com Stadium," said Beale.
"It's been a long time since we've reached this stage as a club, and it's nice for the boys to be part of that.
"We expect another difficult evening, like we had at Leeds. These Category One teams work at such a high level and the level of competition they face every week is so high.
"They're a very good side, and it's not going to be easy.
"It' will be great to get a good crowd there to support the boys, they deserve it."
