Swansea City Under-21s' forward Maliq Cadogan was "buzzing" after scoring his first career hat-trick for the development side in their 5-0 victory over Watford.

Cadogan and Glory Nzingo produced a fine finish apiece in the opening half to send the Swans into the break two goals to the good at Vicarage Road.

The 19-year-old would go on to add two further goals and complete his hat-trick on the hour mark, with Irishman Nzingo then rounding off the scoring in stoppage time.

It brings Cadogan's goal tally up to eight for the season, after he also bagged a brace in the Swans dramatic comeback against AFC Bournemouth in February.

"I'm buzzing to have got three goals, and it's my first ever hat-trick in my career," said Cadogan.

"The boys were great, and I credit it (the hat-trick) to them for the service. They played some brilliant football and we got what we deserved.

"Joel Cotterill told me before the game that I was going to get a hat-trick, so I need him to tell me that for the rest of the season!

"Glory is also great to play with, we work well with each other and I'm delighted he scored two good goals, too.

"It's been a tough time away from home recently, but this will definitely boost our confidence going into our home fixtures."

Cadogan made the move to south Wales in July 2023 after a spell at Crystal Palace, and says he's loving life in SA1.

"I had a slow start here, but I feel like I've found my rhythm and I'm getting some goals," he added.

"They boys and staff are brilliant, that's what helps the most, and we don't have many games left, so I want carry on my form and get those wins for the team."
