Gavin Ward referee

Gavin Ward will be the man in the middle for Swansea City’s Championship clash with Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

The Surrey-based official will take charge of a Swans fixture for the first time since overseeing our 2-1 victory at Portsmouth in March.

Ward first officiated in the EFL back in 2007 and has since taken charge of more than 500 league games across various divisions, having been promoted to Select Group 2 ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Saturday’s fixture will be the 17th time Ward has refereed a Swans match since first taking charge of a game in SA1 in February 2010.

So far this season, Ward has overseen nine matches across various competitions, issuing 32 yellow cards and one red card.

He will be assisted by Richard Woodward and Jacob Lehane, while Richie Watkins will serve as the fourth official.
