Olivier Ntcham believes Swansea City’s victory over Bristol City at the Swansea.com Stadium will provide a big morale boost for the squad as they prepare for the final eight matches of the season.

The Cameroon international had an excellent afternoon against the Robins, contributing with an assist for Liam Cullen in the first half, before wrapping up the three points when he scored in the 77th minute after controlling a clearing header inside the area.

There could have been more goals for the Swans, with Harry Darling, Joel Piroe and Jamie Paterson all going close as they brought a tough run of results to an end.

“Everyone is happy,” said Ntcham, who was named man of the match.

“Everyone has been waiting for that result. We needed it to build on.

“It’s really nice to be able to score and assist because we’ve had a tough time, so to be back winning and get a clean sheet; it was unreal.

“I think in the game against Millwall, you could see a result like this was coming and [on Sunday] we did it, so it was nice.

“I think it’s a good boost for everybody before the international break. It’s really nice  because now we can come back with our minds fresh.”
