Preview | Cardiff City U18s v Swansea City U18s
Swansea City Under-18s return to Professional Development League Cup action as they face Cardiff City on Saturday morning at Leckwith (11am kick-off).
It's the first meeting between the two sides this season, and they will meet again in a week at the Joma High Performance Centre in the league.
Swindon ran out 4-1 winners in the first round, meaning a Swansea win in Cardiff still puts them in contention for qualifying.
The young Swans won their secondPDL Cup fixture against fellow Welsh side Wrexham with a 2-0 victory on home turf thanks to goals from Kai Rhodes and Lukas Murphy.
Previous meeting
Swansea City Under-18s suffered defeat in the south Wales Derby at Leckwith.
Robert Tankiewicz put Cardiff ahead in the early stages before Thomas Woodward's equalising header was ruled out for offside moments later.
The Swans had further chances in the opening half, but did not take them and the hosts went on to grab two goals in quick succession towards the midway point of the second half. Tankiewicz got his second and Manni Barton added Cardiff's third.
Dan Ola's penalty extended Cardiff's lead and, despite seeing T-Jay Parfitt sent off, Barton rounded off the scoring with his second of the game.
