Swans Women vs Ponty

Swansea City Women travel to the USW Sports Park this afternoon to face Pontypridd United Women in their final Genero Adran Premier match before Christmas.

The Swans will be looking to bounce back from last week’s defeat to Wrexham at the Rock, having been in strong form prior to that match with six wins from their previous eight in all competitions.

Pontypridd will be aiming to secure their first league win of the season, having suffered 10 consecutive defeats that leave them bottom of the table.

Yzzy Taylor

Head coach Yzzy Taylor: " There were lots of positive moments throughout the game against Wrexham last week and moments that we have reflected upon. We will continue to build and are looking forward to the game this weekend.

"Ponty obviously lost their manager early on in the season and we played really well last time out. Their games over recent weeks have been a lot tighter in relation to scorelines so we will go out and put out a performance against them that we are proud of.

"As a group we are growing and feeling positive."

Swans Women vs Ponty

The Swans hit double figures when they recorded an historic 10–1 victory over Pontypridd United back in October.

A brace from Steph Turner, along with goals from Stacey John, Emily Richards, Chloe Chivers, and Aimee Deacon, saw the Swans take a commanding 6-0 lead into half-time.

They added four more goals in the second half through Emily Thomas, a second from John, and a debut brace off the bench from 17-year-old Lowri Jones.

Pontypridd managed to find a consolation goal through Nicole Fenton with 10 minutes remaining, but they were otherwise dominated from start to finish.
