Swansea City Under-21s are in action for the first time in 2024 as they get set to take on Cardiff Met in their Nathaniel MG Cup semi-final this evening (7.45pm).

Entry for this fixture is free and supporters are permitted on site from 6.45pm.

The development side - competing in the competition for the first time - reached the last four thanks to a  6-0 victory over Briton Ferry Llansawel in October.

The Swans had eased through the previous rounds with wins over Carmarthen Town, Caerau Ely and their Cardiff City counterparts.

Met, meanwhile, saw off Pontypridd United by 1-0 nil in the quarter-finals in December.

In the earlier rounds, the JD Cymru Premier outfit beat Taff's Well and Afan Lido. Met have yet to concede a goal in the competition this term.

The semi-final tie is the first time the two sides have met in a competitive setting, having played numerous friendlies against each other in recent years.

Pre-match views

Swansea City Under-21s’ coach Anthony Wright: "One of the objectives we've set ourselves this season is to reach the final of the cup, and now we're just one step away.

"It's been a brilliant experience for the boys as they've come up against senior teams in the earlier rounds, and they've shown incredible determination to get to where they are now.

"We have a couple of ex-academy lads in the Met squad, and they've been having some good results lately and they will be the first Cymru Premier side we would have faced, so it's going to a different test."
