Swansea City return to home soil looking to produce a reaction when they host Blackburn Rovers at the Swansea.com Stadium (3pm).

The Swans suffered a 5-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers last time out, and Vitor Matos and his side will be looking to produce a much-improved performance and return to winning ways following what has been a strong start to the season over the opening dozen games.

The visitors have won four of their six games to move into the Championship's top 10, but have won just once on their travels so far this term.

Team news

Josh Key

Josh Key is fit and available for selection ahead of this afternoon's home Championship clash against Blackburn Rovers.

The right-back hasn’t featured for the Swans since sustaining a hamstring injury in the 3-1 victory against Burnley back in September.

Elsewhere, Matos confirmed Moussa Yeo will return from a hamstring problem around the upcoming international break, while Ronald and Cameron Burgess remain sidelined with hamstring and Achilles injuries.

Pre-match views

Vitor Matos: “The players have responded really well. It's been quite a demanding week, as you would all expect.

“We've had honest conversations between us, and what I've been most pleased with is the reaction on the training pitch, with the intensity and togetherness shown.

“Last week was a reminder for all of us of how competitive the Championship is. All the games are so particular in so many ways, and if you allow your opponentent an advantage they can punish you.

“This league is full of good squads, good players and good managers. You always need to be spot on. What we want to do now is react on Saturday.”

Tony Mowbray: "It's a really, really tough challenge this weekend.

"Having studied them this week, it's not by accident that Swansea have been right at one or two in the league all season.

"They're extremely hard-working; they do a lot of running, a lot of pressing. I think the coach was with Jurgen Klopp for five years and they're very intense.

"It's just a great challenge for us this week, one that we're looking forward to.

"On the back of three points at home, it helps us prepare and relax into the game and make sure that we give it our very best shot.

"We're looking forward to this challenge against a really good team. Hopefully, we can give them problems and let's see how it goes."

Meet the officials

Gavin Ward referee

Gavin Ward will be the man in the middle for Swansea City’s Championship clash with Blackburn Rovers this afternoon.

The Surrey-based official will take charge of a Swans fixture for the first time since overseeing our 2-1 victory at Portsmouth in March.

Today's fixture will be the 17th time Ward has refereed a Swans match since first taking charge of a game in SA1 in February 2010.

So far this season, Ward has overseen nine matches across various competitions, issuing 32 yellow cards and one red card.

He will be assisted by Richard Woodward and Jacob Lehane, while Richie Watkins will serve as the fourth official.

Those goals came either side of a Blackburn equaliser through their new signing Mathias Jorgensen, and a Connor O’Riordan own goal that had restored Swansea’s lead.

Victory made it 16 points from the last 18 available on home turf.
