Swansea City Women are back on home soil as they host Aberystwyth Town Women at Llandarcy this afternoon (2pm).

The Swans opened the campaign with a 4-0 win over Barry Town United, but saw last weekend's game against Pontypridd United abandoned after an hour due to weather conditions.

However, the red card given to captain Jess Williams prior to the abandonment will mean she us unavailable for this afternoon's game.

They face an Aber side who have won both their league fixtures so far this term.

Pre-match views

Swansea City Women assistant head coach, Dan Sheehan: "We know Aberystwyth are very solid defensively and very aggressive in attack.

"But it is a challenge we will relish and we are looking forward to an exciting game.

"There were a lot of positives in the win over Barry, there were also things we want to iron out and the vibe seems good around the club.

"We are without Jess but we have leaders across the squad and we have good strength in depth, we have no doubt those leaders will be able to step up."

Previous meeting

Jess Williams v Aberystwyth Women

Swansea City Women finished the 2024-25 Genero Adran Premier season in fine style with an emphatic over Aberystwyth Town Women when they last visited Llandarcy in April.

Emily Richards gave the Swans the lead early as she finished from close range for her ninth goal of the season.

Aberystwyth responded quickly, Carys Bufton netting the equaliser shortly after the restart.

But the Swans would ease away to win as Taite Trivett, Jess Williams and Stacey John-Davis found the net to ensure the Swans ended the second phase of the season unbeaten and finished fifth overall in the standings.
