Swansea City striker Sam Surridge has withdrawn from the England Under-21 squad with a knee injury.

The on-loan Bournemouth forward, who has five goals to his name this season, had been included in Aidy Boothroyd’s party for games against Albania and the Netherlands.

However, he picked up a knock during his substitute appearance in the draw at Sheffield Wednesday.

The injury is not thought to be serious, but the 21-year-old will undergo a precautionary scan in the coming days.
