Swansea City’s Joe Rodon and Connor Roberts have been included in the Wales squad for the upcoming games against Azerbaijan and Belarus.

Rodon has yet to make a senior appearance for his country, but was included in the training squad for the summer games against Croatia and Hungary, while he was also an unused substitute in the friendly defeat to Spain last autumn.

Swans head coach Steve Cooper had backed the 21-year-old to shine for club and country earlier this week, having been impressed by the young defender since taking over the reins at the Liberty Stadium.

Roberts, meanwhile, has established himself as a regular starter under Ryan Giggs and has won 10 caps and scored one goal for the Dragons.

Following defeats to Croatia and Hungary, Giggs will be keen for his side to bounce back in their Euro 2020 qualifier against Azerbaijan in Cardiff on Friday, September 6.

They then face Belarus in a friendly, again in Cardiff, on Monday, September 9.
