All four members of the Swansea City contingent in the Wales Under-17s' squad featured as the young Dragons suffered a 3-0 defeat to hosts Hungary in their first game of the European Championship finals in Budapest.

Wales - playing at their first-ever under-17s' finals and ending a 42-year wait for a Welsh age-grade side to reach a major tournament - included Swansea goalkeeper Kit Margetson and striker Iwan Morgan in their starting XI, while Jacob Cook and Sam Parker were introduced as second-half substitutes.

Wales had their chances, Morgan striking the post and forcing a couple of saves from the Hungary keeper during the opening half.

But the home side led at the break at the Hidegkuti Nandor Stadion after Benedek Simon opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time.

Szilard Szabo and Adam Umathum would add further goals during the closing stages as Wales chased the game.

The Dragons are in action again on Saturday, when they face the Republic of Ireland.
