Swansea City is seeking host families to accommodate our aspiring young academy football players, and to be a key part of the team behind the team.

The club has a fantastic group of host families we are looking to expand.

Host families not only supply a place to stay and food to eat, but also openly welcome the players into their homes, providing support and looking after their emotional needs.

During their time with a host family, the players not only develop important social skills, but are also encouraged to be independent and learn important life skills off the pitch to help make them more rounded players and people.

We are looking for families to provide a safe, caring and healthy environment for our players, somewhere they can flourish and feel secure in a ‘home away from home’, as they live and study around their training schedules.

The club is committed to providing support to our young players in welcoming environments, and are looking for residents who are able to invest their time and support on either a short (trialist) or long-term (scholar) basis.

Each of our players ideally requires a separate room, a daily nutritionally-balanced evening meal, occasional breakfasts/lunches, access to laundry facilities and wireless internet.

Ideally, we would require host families who can accommodate a minimum of two players at a time. Previous experience of hosting a young person (not necessarily football related) is preferred.

Swansea City operates a Safer Recruitment Policy and, as a result, successful applicants will be subject to a series of robust safeguarding processes, including an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

We are seeking host families in the SA1, SA2 and SA5 postcode areas with a close proximity to a train station or other public transport facilities.

We require hosting to commence as soon as possible after the safer recruitment processes are complete.

Successful applicants will receive a competitive remuneration package for providing this service.

If you think you are the kind of family who can work with us to play a key role in the development of our young players, then we would like to hear from you.

To arrange an informal discussion about being a host family, to start the application process and discuss rates of remuneration, please email safeguarding@swanseacity.com. To complete an application form click here.
