Swansea City Women's Taite Trivett believes the Swans' growing fitness levels and strong connection within the squad were evident in their 1-0 pre-season victory over Plymouth Argyle Women.

Trivett's first-half finish proved to be the winner in hot conditions in Devon, with the winger latching onto a ball from Chloe Chivers before turning well and firing into the bottom corner to give the Swans the lead.

Similar to the previous weekend's victory over Torquay United, the Swans had opportunities to extend their advantage, with Caitlin Williams and Lowri Jones both going close in either half.

It was also another solid defensive display from Yzzy Taylor's side as they recorded a second successive clean sheet, with goalkeepers Opal Rayner and Amelia Forkings both producing important saves to deny the hosts.

Trivett believes the Swans are continuing to make positive strides with their fitness and performances throughout pre-season, while highlighting the strong connection within the group as preparations for the new campaign continue.

"It was a good performance. We obviously came here to get good minutes in the legs and to keep working on what we've done in training over the past few weeks.

"We had a good start with the victory over Torquay last week and that was something we wanted to build on today, so we're pleased to have got the result we wanted.

"Plymouth gave us a real physical test. They're a good team, but I thought we dealt with it well. We're looking fit and strong and I think we should be excited about what's ahead." She said.

"We had a lot of chances that we could have scored from, but it's a learning curve and we keep going. If we weren't creating chances then we'd have more reason to worry, so there are plenty of positives to take from getting into those areas and creating those opportunities.

"A clean sheet is just as important as a win. I think it gives the team confidence because when you're defending well and attacking well, the results will follow.

"It's always good to get on the scoresheet and contribute to the success of the team, but it's all about the team performance. I think we've come off the back of a positive season and we've got a good group of girls with a really strong connection within the team.

"I want to contribute as much as I can. I love an assist as well, so if I can keep adding goals and assists throughout the rest of pre-season and into the campaign, that would be great.

"Bristol City will be a different test. They're a young side who will bring plenty of energy and tenacity, but they'll also be technically strong, so it'll be another good challenge for us. We'll recover now and look forward to Wednesday."
