Wales Under-17s suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Republic of Ireland in their second European Championship group fixture, seeing them eliminated from the tournament with a game to spare.

Swansea City duo Iwan Morgan and Sam Parker started for Craig Knight's side, whilst Kit Margetson and Jacob Cook were unused substitutes in Felcsut.

The young Dragons started the game brightly, coming close to scoring in the first minute. A superb curling effort by striker Morgan from outside the box flying just wide.

However, the Republic of Ireland were awarded a penalty after Ike Orazi was taken down in the box. Following a save by Luke Armstrong, the referee awarded the Irish a retake for leaving the line early, and Naj Razi broke the deadlock with the follow up despite a second penalty save by the Wales keeper.

And further goals from Orazi and Romeo Akachukwu secured Ireland's first win of the campaign.

Wales' final group match will take place on Tuesday May 23 against Poland at the BSC Stadium in Budapest. (7pm kick-off).
