Stadium Celebration Events & Social Action

Our programmes provide beneficial opportunities and experiences that develop positive aspirations and empower young people to strive for a successful future. 

All cohorts are invited to a celebration event at the Swansea.com stadium at the end of each programme. This involves workshops and a stadium tour, as well as the chance to win prizes and meet scholars and players. Our workshops are delivered by facilitators with lived experience and address topics such as mental health, substance misuse, county lines, knife crime, exploitation and more.

Schools can also opt to participate in the Inspires Challenge, a national social action event facilitated by the Premier League. Each year a new theme is presented to participating football clubs and pupils around the country. Pupils must research and prepare a solution to the issue, before presenting to a panel. Young people have the opportunity to work with their community, fundraise for a local charity, or campaign to raise awareness on issues that really matter to them. The most actionable and impactful project team will then be selected to represent Swansea City AFC at the national finals in Wembley Stadium. Social Action helps to improve attitudes about learning, increase young people’s levels of empathy and boost their sense of community involvement.
