Swansea City Ladies returned to winning ways with victory over The New Saints at Llandarcy.

The Swans took the lead in the very early stages through a composed finish from Stacey John-Davis.

The New Saints didn’t take long to respond as Lucie Platt equalised from a scruffy passage of play in the Swansea penalty box.

But the Swans then bagged two goals before half-time courtesy of Katy Hosford and Laura Davies, which was enough to claim all three points.

Swansea broke the deadlock with the first attack of the match as Chloe Chivers played the ball through to John-Davis and she finished the move with a first-time finish.

Despite the Swans’ strong start, TNS replied with a goal of their own as Platt bundled the ball home from point blank range.

In an attempt to reinstate Swansea’s lead, John-Davis drilled the ball invitingly across the face of goal, but nobody was able to get the important touch on the ball.

Hosford got the Swans back in front with a strike from the edge of the box, which took a deflection on its way in.

Davies ensured Swansea had a two-goal cushion going into the break as she flicked on Chivers’ delivery into the far corner.

Swansea claimed for a penalty in the box for a handball against Jen Jarvie, however, the referee confidently waved the claims away.

John-Davis then looked to put the game fully out of TNS’ reach with a snapshot from the edge of the box, but Sarah Parkes kept hold of it.
