The Swans claimed their first points of the season with a 2-0 victory at West Brom.
Michael Laudrup's side were the better team throughout, enjoying the majority of possession and territory at The Hawthorns.
They took a first-half lead when Ben Davies volleyed home his second goal for the club in the 22nd minute following Pablo Hernandez's cross.
And it was Hernandez who settled the contest in the second half, side-footing home in the 83rd minute after he was teed up by Michu.
It proved a welcomed three points for the Swans, who head into the international break with a hard-fought but deserved away victory behind them.
The Swans made a promising start, with Jonjo Shelvey curling a free-kick over from 20 yards before Michu and Wayne Routledge tested West Brom's Boaz Myhill.
The hosts went close from a set-piece, with Scott Sinclair's free-kick out wide being met by the head of James Morrison, and when that was blocked, Michu cleared the danger.
Then, on 22 minutes, the Swans took the lead.
After Hernandez beat his marker, the Spaniard's cross found the onrushing Davies, who thundered a left-footed volley into the top corner.
The Baggies looked for an instant reply, and Nicolas Anelka fired just wide after he raced onto a through ball, and then Sinclair flicked Claudio Yacob's volley wide.
Wilfried Bony's powerful effort was then dealt with by Myhill in what proved the last action of the half.
The Swans could have doubled the lead in the 49th minute as Michu sent Routledge in on goal, but the winger's effort was snuffed out by the onrushing Myhill.
The visitors enjoyed the vast majority and territory, but couldn't make their pressure count.
Laudrup made a change in the 67th minute as Jonathan de Guzman replaced Wilfried Bony, with Michu moving up front.
The Swans continued to probe, and Routledge again found himself in on goal after a threaded pass from Hernandez, but the winger's shot was blocked by a perfectly-timed sliding challenge from Gareth McAuley.
It proved Routledge's final act, with Alejandro Pozuelo taking his place for the final 20 minutes.
The Spaniard quickly got into the game, curling a 25-yard effort wide after being set up by Michu.
The Swans went even closer with nine minutes to go. Michu's sublime pass set up Hernandez, who cut inside before seeing his curling shot clip the top of the crossbar.
But Hernandez did find the net shortly after, side-footing home in the 83rd minute after Michu unselfishly squared to his fellow countryman after his initial cross was blocked.
That strike settled the contest, with the Swans heading back to South West Wales with three welcome points.
