First team

The Swans suffered only their second home defeat of the season after going down 3-2 against in-form Norwich City at the Liberty.

Despite taking a first-half lead, Brendan Rodgers’ men conceded three times in the space of 16 minutes after the break as they suffered a rare loss in SA1.

The Swans went in front after 23 minutes as Danny Graham coolly finished past John Ruddy, while it took a fantastic last-ditch challenge by Elliott Ward to deny him a second goal soon after.

That proved crucial as Norwich levelled within two minutes of the restart.

The hosts were caught napping as Ward kept the visitors’ attack alive by crossing into the area for Grant Holt to head home, before Anthony Pilkington’s deflected strike turned the contest on its head four minutes later.

Holt then grabbed his second as he was allowed time to latch onto Elliott Bennett’s through ball before slotting home.

The Swans embarked on a late surge and pulled a goal back three minutes from time, when Graham scored his second from the penalty spot after Holt had fouled Ashley Williams.

However, the striker squandered a great opportunity to level in stoppage time when he failed to hit the target from close range, while Ruddy did well to deny Steven Caulker’s header to secure the points for Norwich.
