11/04/2012 18:45 v Queens Park Rangers

30th May
First team

The Swans suffered a fourth consecutive defeat as they were swept aside 3-0 by Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.

It was a difficult evening for Brendan Rodgers’ side, whose wait to secure their Premier League survival went on.

They had chances to break the deadlock in the first half with the best falling to Wayne Routledge, who blazed over from close range against his former club.

But it was the hosts who took the lead just before the break, as Joey Barton fired past Michel Vorm after the Swans failed to clear Adel Taarabt’s free-kick.

Mark Hughes’ side doubled their advantage 10 minutes into the second half when Jamie Mackie’s 25-yard strike deflected in off Angel Rangel.

And QPR put the contest beyond any doubt with another long-range effort in the 67th minute as Akos Buzsaky left Vorm clutching at thin air.
