18/11/2017 15:00 v Burnley

18th November
First team

The Swans were beaten by high-flying Burnley as two goals in the first half condemned Paul Clement's side to a fourth consecutive league loss.

Burnley broke the deadlock after 29 minutes as former Swan Jack Cork got onto the end of Robbie Brady's cross to nod home from close range.

Things got worse for the Swans just over ten minutes later as the Clarets doubled their lead when Ashley Barnes powered in a vicious effort which beat Lukasz Fabianski at the near post.

The Polish keeper had kept the Swans in the game before those goals with a series of fine saves - one to deny Steven Defour and then Barnes.

He came to the rescue again to prevent Jeff Kendrick from adding a third after the interval after the midfielder latched onto a through ball.

With Wilfried Bony on for the second half, the Swans threatened the Burnley goal more often.
He teed up Tammy Abraham to shoot, but his effort flew over the goal, while the pair linked up again with the former seeing the same result.

Bony again threatened to gave the Swans a lifeline, only for his effort to fizz wide before seeing his late header fly directly into Nick Pope's hands.

Abraham was stretchered off in the last ten minutes, with the Swans hoping their top scorer will recover soon from his back injury.
