20/04/2013 14:00 v Southampton
The Swans had to settle for a point as they were held to a low-key 0-0 draw by Southampton at the Liberty.
The closest both sides came to a goal was when Nathan Dyer saw his shot cleared off the line by Maya Yoshida while Rickie Lambert's 20-yard free-kick looked destined for the top corner before Michel Vorm dived across to tip it over for a corner.
Both sides shared the honours, which was a fair result, and this point moved the Swans onto 42 for the season from 33 games which kept them in ninth place.
With the sun beaming down on the Liberty, the Swans made a bright starts through early probes from Michu and Angel Rangel.
Jonathan de Guzman then saw his shot from the edge of the box blocked by a Southampton body before Nathan Dyer's cross was just pinched off the top of Luke Moore's head by Artur Boruc.
The early Swans pressure kept coming, with Michu's slip-pass for Dyer just evading the former Saints winger in the box.
Pablo Hernandez's chip was then kept out by Boruc before the visitors had their first attempt through Jack Cork, whose 25-yard drive was initially parried by Vorm before the Dutchman collected the loose.
Vorm was again in action before the half-hour mark, diving low to his right to keep Jay Rodriguez's effort out.
The game entered a lull before Rickie Lambert brought the best out of Vorm, with the keeper tipping his top-corner bound free-kick over the crossbar for a corner.
The Saints then had the ball in the net via Rodriguez, but his effort was ruled out for a foul on Vorm following Adam Lallana's cross.
Michael Laudrup made a change at the break, Wayne Routledge coming on for Moore which meant Michu moved up front and Routledge operated as the attacking central midfielder.
Routledge made an instant impact, curling a cross into the box which Michu rose to head just over the far corner.
Hernandez then curled a tempting cross along the face of goal, but no Swan was there to connect.
It proved Hernandez's final involvement as he was replaced by Ki Sung-Yueng just past the hour.
Michu headed wide from a corner before Saints made their first switch, Gaston Ramirez on for Rickie Lambert.
Then the Swans had their best chance so far as Dyer was tackled in the box, but the loose fell to Michu who teed up Dyer, and from an angle he went for goal only for Maya Yoshida to clear off the line.
Michu then failed to connect properly with Ki's centre before Jonathan de Guzman was put in on goal by Dyer, but Boruc stood firm to block his shot.
Saints almost pinched victory in the final minute, sub Emmanuel Mayuka firing towards the bottom corner, but Vorm got down quickly to gather.
Ki had a penalty appeal turned down late on, but that was the last of the action as the Swans had to settle for a point.
