The Swans’ struggles away from home continued as they went down 1-0 against Everton at Goodison Park.

Once again, Brendan Rodgers’ side failed to create many clear chances on the road and were made to pay as they left Merseyside empty-handed.

Everton had never lost to the Swans in the 14 previous meetings between the sides and made a strong start to the contest.

Johnny Heitinga and Louis Saha both headed off target, while Magaye Gueye drew a smart save out of Michel Vorm.

Royston Drenthe then went close with a curling 20-yard free-kick as the hosts continued to ask questions of the Swans.

The visitors were finally breached on the hour mark when Drenthe’s corner was met by Leon Osman, who planted his header way beyond the reach of Vorm.

Danny Graham spurned a great opportunity to equalise later on as he headed Wayne Routledge’s cross straight at Tim Howard; meaning the Swans’ search for an away win in the Premier League continued.
