Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to inflict a 2-1 defeat on the Swans after Alberto Paloschi scored his first goal for the club.

Paloschi opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a sweeping effort past Hugo Lloris, while man-of-the-match Lukasz Fabianski produced a string of saves to preserve the visitors’ lead.

But second-half substitute Nacer Chadli finally broke Swansea’s resistance in the 70th minute when he turned in Kyle Walker’s long-range shot to make it 1-1.

Rose completed the turnaround just seven minutes later with a low drive from just inside the box.

The defeat means the Swans remain 16th in the Premier League, three points above the relegation zone.

Inside the opening three minutes, Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris denied Gylfi Sigurdsson from point-blank range with a world class save.

After Paloschi cut the ball back across the six-yard box, Sigurdsson struck first time, only to see Lloris tip his goalbound effort over the bar.

An equally golden chance was spurned at the other end just moments later, when Erik Lamela prodded over the target from Rose’s driven pass across goal.

But it was the Swans who struck first blood when Paloschi latched on to Angel Rangel's deflected shot before sweeping the ball past Lloris from six yards out in the 19th minute.

In an attempt to restore parity almost straight from the restart, Eric Dier then headed over Eriksen’s fizzing free-kick before the Danish midfielder then saw a well-struck free-kick parried away by Fabianski.

The chances were piling up for the hosts as Swansea’s Polish stopper was again called into action, first to deny Kane and then Heung-Min Son.

On the brink of half-time, Fabianski once again showed lightning quick reactions to deny Dier from close range before Kane struck the rebound into the side netting.

Spurs began the second half as they ended the first, putting the Swans under heavy pressure during the opening exchanges following the interval.

Fabianski, who had become an early contender for man of the match, produced saves of the highest quality to prevent an Eriksen free-kick and Kane effort from levelling the scores.

With the Swans sitting deep and Tottenham unable to get behind the visitors' back line, the home side resorted to peppering Fabianski's goal with shots from distance as Eriksen and Rose both went close to equalising.

But the pressure finally told in the 70th minute as substitute Chadli deflected Walker's long-range effort into the bottom corner to make it one-a-piece.

Mauricio Pochettino's side then took the lead just seven minutes later when the ball dropped to Rose just inside the Swans' area, and the left-back rifled the ball past Fabianski.

But just moments after going behind, the Swans went close to getting back on terms when Paloschi's fiercely struck volley was parried away by Lloris.

The Swans then suffered another scare when Walker turned in Kane's cross at the far post, only for his effort to be chalked off for offside.
