Neil Taylor’s late own goal denied the Swans all three points as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Chelsea at the Liberty.

Brendan Rodgers’ side were on course for a famous victory after Scott Sinclair’s first-half strike but, in the dying seconds, Taylor deflected Jose Bosingwa’s cross beyond Michel Vorm to ensure the spoils were shared in SA1.

The Swans dominated the first half in front of the Jack Army, with Branislav Ivanovic and David Luiz forced into making important interventions to deny Danny Graham.

Meanwhile, at the other end, Daniel Sturridge shot just wide of the target from Luiz’s low cross.

But the hosts did take the lead six minutes before half time as Bosingwa failed to clear Gylfi Sigurdsson’s free-kick, and Sinclair fired into the top corner against his old club.

Chelsea gained the upper hand after the break with Michael Essien going close from distance, while Sturridge poked an effort just wide of the target.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men as the clock ticked down when Ashley Cole was shown a second yellow card for a rash challenge on Nathan Dyer.

However, they continued to threaten and stole a point in the dying moments, when Bosingwa worked his way into the box before his drive deflected beyond Vorm off the unfortunate Taylor.
