Academy round-up | Swansea City Women and Girls
Swansea City Women’s academy sides were back in action over the weekend, with plenty of positive performances across the age groups.
In this week’s academy round-up, we take a look at how our Under-13s and Under-15s got on in their latest fixtures.
Under-13s
The Under-13s made it two wins from two in the FAW Girls National Academy League as they defeated Cardiff Met 3-1 at Landore on Saturday afternoon.
The Swans took the lead in the 25th minute through Isla Edwards, with the forward finding the net for the fifth time in just two matches to open the scoring.
Edwards was not finished there, doubling Swansea’s advantage just two minutes later to give Roy Thomas’ side a two-goal cushion against the Archers.
The visitors pulled a goal back in the second half through Brooke Hartshorn, but Swansea responded almost instantly to restore their two-goal advantage, with substitute Eva May Salmon scoring her second goal in as many matches for the Swans.
The result leaves Swansea joint-top of the table alongside Cardiff City, with Thomas’ side currently sitting first on goal difference.
Swansea City Women Under-13s: Ffion Evans, Maisie Rees, Ava Jones, Ava Tipuric, Isabelle Jones, Loti Adams, Mia Price, Isla Edwards, Maisie Brown (C).

Under-15s
The Under-15s also faced Cardiff Met and recorded a 3-1 victory over the Archers at Landore.
The Swans had to come from behind to claim all three points after Jevaeh Cross gave Met a 10th minute lead.
Swansea levelled 20 minutes later as substitute Olivia Gill registered her first goal since joining the Swans this season, before Sophia Whapham found the net for her second goal of the campaign just before half time.
Skye Cannon then rounded off the scoring shortly after the hour mark to secure the Swans’ first victory of the season.
The result moves Swansea into third place, with Cardiff City and Briton Ferry Llansawel currently sitting above them.
