Adam Idah savoured the “unbelievable feeling” of scoring the most dramatic of winners to help Swansea City come out on top in the all-Welsh Championship clash with Wrexham at the Swansea.com Stadium.

With the scores locked at 1-1 in stoppage time, there had appeared to be little danger for the visitors when the Swans sent a set-piece delivery towards the edge of the penalty area.

Wrexham keeper Arthur Okonkwo elected to leave his goal to try and punch clear, but instead succeeding only in looping the ball high into the air.

Ben Cabango headed goalwards but the keeper looked to have recovered, only to spill the ball and Idah to be on hand to tap in his third goal of the season and spark joyous celebrations in SA1.

The striker has scored some big goals in his career, and his last-gasp winner was right up there, particularly knowing what it meant to the club’s supporters.

“It’s an unbelievable feeling, especially in a game like that. To get a 90th minute goal is amazing, but to do it in a game like that was just amazing,” he said.

“The fans were massive, when you have the support like that it makes such a big difference for us because when you have the small details – where someone makes a tackle or wins a throw-in – they get behind those moments and really lift the team.

“They were amazing, they have been brilliant all season, they have stuck with us through some tough spells.

“So to give them a win like that just before Christmas is special, but we want to kick on from here and climb up the table.

“Hopefully that can give us a big boost, to have three wins in a row at home is really important for us and we want to push on.”
