Adam Idah wants Swansea City to carry their confidence and belief into Saturday's meeting with Birmingham City.

Alan Sheehan's side stunned Premier League Nottingham Forest in Wednesday night's Carabao Cup third-round clash after the Swans came from 2-0 down to clinch a spot in the fourth round thanks to Cameron Burgess' tremendous volley in the 97th minute.

Republic of Ireland international Idah made his full debut on a dramatic night, having signed for the Swans on deadline day.

With a very short turnaround, the Swans now travel to face Birmingham at a sold-out St Andrew's for Saturday's lunchtime kick-off, with barely 60 hours between the final whistle against Forest and the start of the fixture in the west Midlands.

But the visitors are unbeaten in seven games in all competitions, and Idah says they can travel with a positive mindset.

"It was a fantastic night. To play a game like that is brilliant. We didn't have the best of starts being 2-0 down," said Idah.

"It was tough to come back, but the boys were excellent, the lads that came on, Cam [Burgess] getting those two goals was amazing, what a night.

"Nights like these don't come around often, and it's a great for us to take into the next couple of games.

"There's real belief in this changing room, we've all got belief that we can do something.

"This will give us great confidence. The game against Hull, we let ourselves down at the end but to come out and do that against Forest, shows the character we have in the dressing room.

"Birmingham aren't an easy side to face, they're going to be top quality, but so are we. It'll be an exciting game to play."
